Good afternoon!
We inaugurate the category "cities" with this post about the Windy City, Chicago.
In the state of Illionis, on the banks of the enormous Lake Michigan, we find the city of Chicago, the third most populous city in the United States after New York City and Los Angeles.
It is a beautiful city where you can visit many tourist attractions, including the Amusement Pier Park, the sculpture "The Bean", the United Center or the ultra famous Chicago Bulls' Stadium, numerous towers with nice views, several parks, Chicago Theater, symbol of the city, and many many more.As we have seen before and as we refer to in the question at the beginning of this entry, Chicago is known as the Windy City. But ... What's the reason for this? The reason is simple. It is due to its geographical location, which makes the winds coming across Lake Michigan blow across the city.
We could say that this city is ideal for learning to fly if you're a bird, or to freeze up, because now, in winter, the city is attacked by polar cold and snow, and is entirely covered by snow and ice and thermometers drop steeply to several degrees below zero, freezing even Lake Michigan.
Therefore, if you travel there, we recommend to go during the spring or summer. If not...then load your bags and luggage with layers and layers of clothing.
See you!
