- It is the coldest place on earth. The lowest recorded temperature was -93.2ºC.
- The Antarctica contains 80% of freshwater on the planet. This is because of the great amount of ice.
- It does not belong to any country and it is only used for scientific purposes.
- There is ice of more than a million years old.
- Million years ago, the Antarctica was a tropical forest
